Mercy

When time stood still
And respect was nil
For life's sanctity
And basic humanity

The last apple drops
Land bereft of crops
Future becomes bleak
Justice they do seek

Anger and bitterness divide
Man is unable to hide
From that which he sows
And his heart knows

No reprieve for the wicked
Summoned are those who fled
Divine justice decrees
man to it pleas

Passions of the moment
Unable to be bent
And unable to see
To cries of mercy
